Community service

The foremost goal of the community service committee is to find meaningful ways for our organization to make a positive contribution to our community. Throughout the year, the members of our organization come together and volunteer for different causes in the community. Our members generously support causes which help improve the lives of individuals and families.

WIRRE Community Service Activities

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

This foundation raises funds to provide toys to supplement the collections of local coordinators and defray the costs of conducting annual Toys for Tots campaigns. Annually, WIRRE donates toys to the foundation with hopes of making the holidays extra special for families with children.

N Street Village

This non-profit organization provides homeless and low-income women in Washington, D.C. with comprehensive services addressing both emergency and long-term needs. N Street Village assist women achieve stability and make meaningful gains in their housing, income, employment, mental health, physical health, and addiction recovery. WIRRE will support N Street Village and donate In-Kind Gifts to the organization this year.

Capital Area Food Bank
Washington metro area’s largest organization works to solve hunger and its companion problems, such as chronic undernutrition, heart disease, and obesity. For many years WIRRE has made donations to the Capital Area Food Bank and will continue to do so by conducting a food drive.
